About Financial Grit
Who We Are
Austin was born and raised in Frankfort, Kentucky. He has Leber's Congenital Amaurosis and has been blind his whole life. Austin reads all grades of Braille and uses the adaptive note-taker called a Braille Note to type and read communications. He also uses the accessibility features of Apple devices including VoiceOver to read out emails and text messages. Although he is comfortable using a cane, he prefers using his service dog for guidance. Austin also uses technology from Aira to help navigate everyday experiences by receiving audio descriptions of his visual surroundings.
